Hi the at' command works very well but refuses to obey the x-terminal-emulator’ command
I have searched high and low with no answers.
Can anyone please help?

Can you paste your actual at command and also state your version of Linux/Unix desktop?
Now solved, I used:
DISPLAY=:0.0 /usr/bin/x-terminal-emulator
and to open links2:
DISPLAY=:0.0 links2 -g https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/
Although it seems to work with ` DISPLAY=:0 ".
