Linux date format from mm/dd/yyyy to dd-mon-yyyy

I get date as mm/dd/yyyy i.e. 08/05/2019 but I need it as 05/Aug/2019. Is it possible to show date format from mm/dd/yyyy to dd-mon-yyyy on Linux system in my shell script?

To print default format run:

date
Tue Aug 6 00:57:07 IST 2019

Use the following date format:

date +"%d/%b/%Y"
06/Aug/2019
