IP Cameras RTSP/HLS and Skype on Linux

I need to be able to use a network IP camera that provides RTSP or HLS format video with Skype on LINUX
Skype does not recognize streams in these formats.
I can capture the stream and view it perfectly with VLCs RTSP functionality so the hardware and streaming works flawless. It is just Skype that has become really badly outdated, but I guess I need an intermediate realtime conversion server.

Anyone has an idea how to make RTSP or HLS streams available to Skype.
I read up and tried for about a day now and hit a wall. Skype is very badly documented about which video formats it reads.

I am not aware of such info.

I find it odd that no solution exist.
This is crucial for Linux surveilance and boatloads of other applications.
