How to restart network interface eth0 on Linux

See my server comes with multiple network interfaces like eth0, eth1, eth2 and so on. It is a CentOS Linux server. Is there a command to just restart eth0 interface? Is it possible without cutting me off ssh and other services?

Try ifdown and ifup command. But, keep in mind when interface goes down, it takes down other active session too:

ifdown eth0
ifup eth0

Another option is to restart the networking service

Debian/Ubuntu restart network interface using systemctl

sudo systemctl restart networking

CentOS/RHEL users type:

sudo systemctl restart network
